The “Progression Pathways in Social Sports” project with Erasmus+ has launched! Until the summer of 2026, we will be working together with France, Portugal, Norway, Greece, and Hungary to expand our Social Sports Coach Course to Europe.

Together, we will train course leaders and Life Skills trainers from each of the mentioned countries, who will then deliver the MSC in their own countries. These include former participants, who will start exercising with their own groups of participants. In this way, we reach a huge number of new participants who are in a socially vulnerable position, and not just in the Netherlands.

The name PPSS says it all; with this project, we offer progression pathways to our participants in every contributing country. By training them to become MSCs, we offer them future prospects, as they can set up their own activities after completing the course. They become committed in this area and make progress. Additionally, by sharing knowledge between different countries, we may arrive at new interesting insights that we can then also apply internally!

Two courses will be offered in 2024. One in Portugal where “Life Skill trainers” will be trained, and one in Norway where course leaders for the MSC will be trained. 2025 and early 2026 will focus on execution and implementation in the respective countries. Throughout this project, Wageningen University will monitor how everyone proceeds, so we will primarily be in close contact with all participating countries. Together, we are working towards the same goal: offering future prospects to as many people as possible in Europe through sport!

Social Sports Coaches at the Life Goals Nijmegen Event 2023 by Lennaert Ruinen

Het project “Progression Pathways in Social Sports” met Erasmus+ is van start gegaan! Tot de zomer van 2026 gaan wij samen met Frankrijk, Portugal, Noorwegen, Griekenland en Hongarije aan de slag om onze Maatschappelijk Sportcoach Cursus uit te breiden naar Europa.

We gaan met elkaar cursusleiders en Life Skills trainers opleiden uit elk genoemd land, die vervolgens in hun eigen land de MSC gaan geven. Dit zijn onder andere oud-deelnemers, die met een eigen groep deelnemers zullen gaan sporten. Zo bereiken we enorm veel nieuwe deelnemers die in een sociaal kwetsbare positie zitten, en dus niet alleen in Nederland.  

De naam PPSS zegt het al; we bieden met dit project progression pathways aan onze deelnemers in elk bijdragend land. Door hen op te leiden tot MSC bieden we toekomstperspectief, omdat zij na het volgen van de cursus een eigen activiteit kunnen opzetten. Ze maken zich sterk op dit gebied en boeken vooruitgang. Door daarnaast kennis met elkaar te delen tussen verschillende landen komen we wellicht tot nieuwe interessante inzichten, die we vervolgens ook intern in kunnen zetten! 

In 2024 zullen er twee cursussen gegeven worden. Eén in Portugal waar “Life Skill trainers” opgeleid gaan worden, en één in Noorwegen waar cursusleiders voor de MSC opgeleid gaan worden. 2025 en begin 2026 staan in het teken van uitvoering en implementatie in de eigen landen. Gedurende dit project zal Wageningen Universiteit monitoren hoe iedereen te werk gaat en zullen we dus vooral in nauw contact staan met alle landen die meedoen. Samen werken we zo aan hetzelfde doel: toekomstperspectief bieden aan zoveel mogelijk mensen in Europa via sport!
